Mickey L. Hawkins
A member of the Lyons High School Class of 1969, he was killed in action in Vietnam on January 6, 1970. Included in the exhibit are the medals Hawkins was awarded for his service in the Marines, the letter of condolence from President Richard M. Nixon, and color photographs of him in Vietnam that he sent to his family. |

All Aboard! Railroads in Lyons
It wasn't long after the founding of Lyons in 1881 that the Denver, Utah & Pacific Railroad arrived in Lyons. The exhibit traces the history of the railroads from 1885, to the closing of the depot in 1960, and the final special excursion train from Lyons in 1962 with objects photographs, and ephemera. |
Lyons Newspapers: A History
Traces the history of Lyons newspapers from 1890 to the present. Includes an interactive photo booth and hands-on activities including typing your news of the day on an electric typewriter, building a front page jigsaw puzzle, or creating your own front page of a newspaper. |
